These paints are very nice to work with. They spray right from the bottle with no thinning or mixing, and they can be intermixed with each other to make your own colors. They come in opaque and transparent and are by far the best paint I have used for eraser techniques. My favorite color is called "Smoke" This is not black or grey or brown.. kind of a little of both. Like all the transparent colors it is very very transparent, but I think even more so than any of the other colors. It can be erase very well to produde realistic looking black and white photo type paintings when using the white of the support and erasers to bring back the highlites. I have mixed these paints with Golden Airbrush colors on just about every painting I have done that is in color and not on textile. I would not think twice about using these and or golden airbrush colors on any hard surface. The finished painting must be cleared with something since any water or solvent (airbrush cleaner) that hits this paint will cause it to bleed and run even if it is dry.

I puchased this to replace my Eclips CS and to fill the void between the HP-BH and the Anthem/VL bottom feeds. Knowing what I know now, I would have purchased this as my first airbrush rather than the VL. It is capable of wide smooth coverage as well as tinny detail. Acrylic paints flow well through it and yet it works equally well with illustration paints (very thin) The MAC valve is very helpfull when changing paint types such as switching from comart to goldens within the same paiting. The cup cap is very helpfull when you are working a large are to prevent spills. This is my overall favorite bursh at the moment.

This is a good product for $12. It will let you see the value of an electric eraser as an airbrush artist. If you like it, you will probably want a real one (powered by a cord). The eraser nibs are only an inch long and slide in a split sleave that the goes into the body of the tool The split sleeve is compressed as it slides in the hole to hold the eraser. This does not work so well and the nib keeps sliding in father as you erase. All in all for $12 I think this is worth trying, you can remove over spray or small mistakes. This can also be used to produce textures which would be almost impossible otherwise.

This is by far better than any hardware store variety rattle can clear. If the tempature is over 75 you can get an almost glass finish without color sanding and buffing. Paint gets hard but does take a week or more to achive complete hardness. Biggest problem is the atomization of the product. It seems to have a very high solid content and does not spray like your run of the mill spray can. It kind of comes out in large drops that will somewhat flatten out as it flashes. 2-3 coats, wet sand with 1500 and 2 more really wet coats with the can twice as far as recomened from the surface, and only a short flash between, will give you a great finsh. TEMPATURE must be UP! 75 -80+ Also if you set the can on a mild heat source and get the product temp up, atomization is better

I own the HP-bh a VL and Anthem. I wanted a replacement for the to bottom feeds that I never use anymore. The bh is too small to do large areas so I needed somthing in between. If I had to do this again, I would have spent the extra money for the HP-C Plus or even the HP-CH (high line) The Eclipse is fine for the money, it is just not as nice to hold as the HP, do to the difference in body design. My hand cramps up much faster working with the Eclipse. The tip size works well with water base paint and covers well in larger areas but the needle is softer (tip bend easy) then the one in my HP. I have used this brush on Textiles and Tags and am happy with it's painting performance. The Eclipes tip design moves the tinny nozzle to the end of a press-fit cone, so you don't have to worry about striping the threads in the body, and it is easier to hold on to when disasembled. I still grab the HP-BH for detailed work but for the average T or tag, the CS would probably be fine. I have never sprayed solvent base paint so I can't say how it will respond. This is a good all around brush and that I wish I had purchased in the begining, rather then the bottom feeds. If you are a beginner thinking of purchasing a VL or Anthem, I would say save a few more bucks and get the Eclipse, you really don't need those big jars of paint as a beginner. If you have a VL, and want a gravity feed to replace it, and to do more detail, save a few more bucks and get the HP-C Plus or High line. This is just my opinion, so take it with some salt, my comparison to the HP does not take budge limites into account. If the HP would mean months of waiting.. get the Eclipse and start painting! NOTE: I am reviewing a DM II. This is the only projector I have ever used. It requires almost complete darkness for detailed work or dark colors. Stand is quite expensive but it is possible to fabricate your own. Uses 2 250W bulbs that get quite hot causing you paper image to distort and sag. Clip hold downs (mine is old I think newer ones use magnets) are not the best.. I find if you use max image size 6\"x6\" you get a lot of edge distortion. All that said, it has expanded what I can do with my airbrush since i can not draw. This is one of the best purchase I have made this year. Doug

I have only used the carbon black of this product while learning the basics of airbushing. This is great struff to lean with. There is very little tip dry and it goes a long long way. I highly recomend this to anyone starting out. I plan to purchas some other colors the next time I have access to it and try it out on illustration board. I will post an update and compairison to Comart Colors. Doug Update: 2 years later: Golden Airbrush colors are very nice to work with and I use them often in combination with Comart colors. These paints are for any surface except textiles. The pigment is top notch and they spray very well in a .02 mm brush. The come in transparent an opaque colors and can be made more transparent with Golden transparent extender. a 2oz bottle will last a very very very long when doing tags and smaller types of illustration. Typically I do not paint large scale paintings so I can not comment on coverage but for licence tags and 15x20 or so illustration it will go very far. These paints can be erased to some extent, when several layers are built up it becomes very difficult.

No the needle is not week just very thin. It is much harder to damage then a badger 155 (have about 6 needles for that) I still love this thing, but is a bit to small for t-shirt work. I still use it for shirt detail, but I am thinking about a hp- c or cs for shirts.
