The projector works as advertised but heats up very quickly which can result in the scorching of your reference photo if you\'re not careful. You can get around this and the relatively small copy size (5\" x 5\"), by using photocopies of your reference material. You must also make sure to project at 90 degrees to the surface or it will distort the image. All in all,... for the price,... I find it very handy to have around.

Considering what the major paint companies charge for their colour shifting paints, this stuff is quite a deal. It sprayed well right out of the can and dried quickly. The fact that it is a lacquer based paint means that there are no windows to work within,... you can wait 10 minutes or 10 days and the next coat will chemicial bond to the one before. I was able to use the midcoat with my airbrush by simply spraying it into the airbrush bottle from the can.
The best results of colour shift came from using about 5 or 6 coats of the midcoat, and I would say that one kit would do a normal bike tank and two fenders,... or several helmets.
The only thing that I would recommend, is going with a urothane clear instead of sanding and buffing up the clear spray bomb lacquer. It's less work and makes for a more durable, and solvent resistant finish.

After reading the instructions sent to me with the product,... I attempted using the Lectra as instructed only to find that instead of flowing out on the surface, it wanted to bead up like water on fresh paint. In the instructions it states to, "avoid using any solvent based cleaning solutions, as the residual hydrocarbons (oil) in the solvents will inhibit crystallization. Soap and water works best."
My surface was uncontaminated, so I used neither, and that was my mistake. After a call to Chad at Lectra,... I washed the surface with soap and the product layed down and crystalized the way it should have. I hope that in future instructions they make this one of the included steps,... not a suggestion.
Unfortuneatly by this time I only had enough product left for one test panel, but hope to do an in depth reveiw of the product for the Magezine when I get some more and can test it at different temperatures and under different conditions.
