I own & have used many airbrushes over the past 37 years, none seem to work as well as the design of the mac valve, ( I see Rich pen has one design of this also"mac"?) Iwata`s does have precise made instruments, different pressures are needed for different shades (air pressures)on the same painting at different times, this saves so much time with the valve , just would be nice if all my older favorite airbrushes had this advantage !

Pros:

Extreme fine line detail,very sensitive & responsive. Superior atomization.
|
|
Cons:
|
Crown cap (when used) confines and collects paint.

Well I finally got one, and WOW what a difference. I love all of my Iwatas but this one is phenominal. The fine lines obtainable right out of the box are better than anything I could have expected, and the atomization is unbelievable.It shoots AA and Createx (which tend to be grainy on hard surfaces) smoothly and with ease.
Very sensitive and smooth trigger, and easy to adjust.
Setup for the .18 tip is quick and easy. (expensive though)
Also the MAC valve is a godsend.
I love this brush and would recommend it to anyone into fine detail work.
I have almost forsaken my other brushes. It does have a different feel to it and takes a little adjustment on the artist's part, but it's not a hard transition.
I do tend to agree with Hairbag .... I want to hold it all of the time. Just dont tell my wife I sleep with it under my pillow... and with a .44 mag. in the night stand to keep it safe. If she makes me choose between it and her .....I'll miss her. lol
Aug 20 2007.......I had a chance to shoot some PPG enviro thru it this weekend. This stuff shoots so well I think I had my first "Airgazm". rotflmao
Seriously what combo of paint and brush. UNREAL!

This is what airbrushing all should be about!
Compared to my Paasche Mil.:
* Way more accurate.
* Easier to clean.
* Utilizes air alot better, and to some extent paint (Guess that's all because it has gravity feed instead of siphon feed though.).
* Doesn't clog that easily.
* That extra air pressure valve will be hard to live without.
It's worth every penny, if you are from Europe consider import it from US, I was able to cut the total price about 40% by doing that.
