Pros: Crystal Clear, gets hard, can be sanded and buffed
Cons: Can nozzle does not atomize that well, needs to be wetsanded and have aditional coats do to the poor spray. Expensive for everyday use.

This is by far better than any hardware store variety rattle can clear. If the tempature is over 75 you can get an almost glass finish without color sanding and buffing. Paint gets hard but does take a week or more to achive complete hardness. Biggest problem is the atomization of the product. It seems to have a very high solid content and does not spray like your run of the mill spray can. It kind of comes out in large drops that will somewhat flatten out as it flashes. 2-3 coats, wet sand with 1500 and 2 more really wet coats with the can twice as far as recomened from the surface, and only a short flash between, will give you a great finsh. TEMPATURE must be UP! 75 -80+ Also if you set the can on a mild heat source and get the product temp up, atomization is better

Pros: great protective intercoat!!!
Cons: Not the toughest stuff in world for a final clear

U-pol is the perfect tool for convenience intercoating and worth every cent if used that way. Without having a traditional catalyst, I find it to be a bit too soft and somewhat easily marred even after curing. I therefore do not recommend this product as a finishing clear. That being said, U-POL #1 clear is a product I keep next to me at all times while in the studio. For projects that take more than 24 hours to complete, U-POL is so much easier than dirtying a gun with clear base. It dries fast and tough enough that parts can be transported for any "real" clearcoat within minutes. U-POL is a seemingly compatible fit to any paint or clear product used before or after it's application. Once art is protected, scuff and clear away. I have yet to hear of any problems.
