Description: Low Tack .002 Vinyl frisket film
9" x 12" sheets (package of 12)
matte finish

I found this product while hunting for another brand of matte frisket. This one was the "off brand", & several dollars cheaper. I believe I paid $14 at Michael's. I'm really glad I didn't get the other stuff.

This frisket is moisture & wrinkle proof. It cut like butter with very clean edges. (No gummy residue edges.) It also left no adhesive behind. I found it easy to remove & reuse the pieces I had cut from it. The packaging says they supply this product in matte or clear finish for the low tack .002 thickness, & matte for high tack .001 thickness. It comes in packages of sheets sized 9" x 12", 18" x 24" or 24" x 36". It also comes in rolls. My local Michael's only carried the 12 pack of 9" x 12" sheets.

I've attached scans of the front & back packaging. I've also included a scan of the actual product folded back & stuck on a printout from my computer, so you can see both the transparency of the actual film plus the translucent backing for tracing through prior to adhering.

(from back of product packaging)
"Grafix Prepared Frisket is a self-adhering film, backed with a specially prepared adhesive. It is easily applied without wetting, heating or pasting. Cuts clean & is quickly removed. Use for airbrushing, retouching, stencils, map work, covering photographs & protecting documents. Can be applied to photographs & illustration board; water color & drawing papers; acetate, glass & plastic surfaces; metal & glazed ceramic surfaces."

Pros: transparency, low tack, no adhesion left behind, easy to cut, easy to position & reuse pieces
Cons: can't run it through the printer, not easy to find locally

Still love this stuff, especially for sensitive surfaces like illustration board & bristol. I've found it on Dick Blick's site as well. You can get packages of 6 sheets of the 9" x 12" low tack for $7.59.
