MAC Valve, Pre-set Handle

Cons:

None

I can't say enough about this AB. I love the airflow control that the MAC Valve gives right at the head. The pre-set handle makes holding a constant line a piece of cake for new comers to pros. The large paint cup is a god send and positioned perfectly for perpendicular to angle work.

consistency of line and ease of detail...

a little nervous.

The 'MAC' is a great, albeit simple, concept. I didn't think it'd make any difference having the regulator on the gun - but found myself using it right away and often. Not that my regulator was all that far away or anything - but I did adjust pressure a lot more frequently/quicker than I normally would. And it did make a difference. Man, that makes me sound lazy...
I am worried about the paint that seems to be 'drawn' to the valve/screw. I try to keep it clean but it seems like my paint is drawn down my gun and 'up???' the threads of the screw.
No big deal really and no problems yet (about 2 months)... but I quit using Iwata's a few years ago because of problems of paint getting into the air assembly and rendering the gun pretty much useless.
We'll see... but so far I have been VERY impressed.

Feels good in my hand. Better control than my eclipse

Cons:

Costly brush

I have done better daggers with this brush than any other. I like the control it allows with the mac air valve as well as the needle travel lock. I was waiting to get this for quite a while!
The price above is in Canadian funds

I puchased this to replace my Eclips CS and to fill the void between the HP-BH and the Anthem/VL bottom feeds. Knowing what I know now, I would have purchased this as my first airbrush rather than the VL. It is capable of wide smooth coverage as well as tinny detail. Acrylic paints flow well through it and yet it works equally well with illustration paints (very thin) The MAC valve is very helpfull when changing paint types such as switching from comart to goldens within the same paiting. The cup cap is very helpfull when you are working a large are to prevent spills. This is my overall favorite bursh at the moment.

This is an all around great brush. I switched mine over from a .3 to a .2
Great brush. Love the MAC valve and the preset handle. Works great as a nice way to get close to the micron

I didn't get one sooner

I just got this today and ended up brushing for about 5 hours. I have a Badger 155 to compare it to. The MAC valve is pretty cool, but I only used it for a little bit. I love the trigger stop...it gave me a lot of confidence...but it is very touchy. The action and feel are great...very smooth action and nice weight. I was able to get MUCH finer lines MUCH easier...the only problem I had was dry tip when flowing very small amounts...but being aware of it made it easy to deal with...

i bought this as my first aibrush, intended mainly for fine art/illustration. i mad ethe decision to go ahead and go top-of-the-line instead of "making do" and i am glad i did. this ab is beautifully made, and makes starting out as easy as it can be. i use the mac valve constantlt to expriment with different pressure settings. i like to mix colors on the fly, so the top feed works really well for me, although clean-up and color changes are a bit messier. a class act all the way.
