The G44 I used in my shop daily for about two months mostly for airbrushing helmets and bikes with urethane paint and Water-Born paint by Auto Air. My first impression was the price is almost too good to be true, at $59.95 it’s a pretty attractive price. Also noted was how much it looked like other brands of airbrushes on the market, it’s becoming a lot more common it seems over the last few years.

You start using this airbrush and sort of have to do a double take looking the airbrush over again, you just don’t expect a airbrush that cost $59.95 to work this well. Does it have the exact spraying characteristics of an airbrush costing three or four, five times as much, no but it’s surprisingly close for the money. The 0.2mm nozzle handled both urethane and Auto Air’s new Water-Born paints very nicely. I never had a lick of problems with the seals during my two months using the brush even running reducer and lacquer thinner thru it. The trigger action was fairly smooth and the mac valve worked fine the entire time I used the airbrush.

Breaking the airbrush down to clean it went about like any other airbrush with no problem with parts aligning correctly, no thread problems. The Funnel shaped gravity fluid color cup was easy to clean and after two months of using the airbrush daily I saw no deterioration inside the color cup. I purposely left reducer and paint in the color cup overnight and had no problems picking the airbrush up in the morning to find it worked just fine.

Detail, detail everyone always wants to know how great a detail airbrush it is no matter which airbrush it is. This airbrush is capable of doing fine detail work much like a HP-CS or HP-C if the artist operating the airbrush has the skill for such.

Bottom line if this is all your budget will allow for, if you are looking for a second spare or emergency airbrush the G44 is worth a look; I don’t believe you regret spending the $59.95.

Below is a short video I put together on taking the G44 apart and putting it back together again correctly for those of you who decide to purchase this airbrush.

I will post another review of other airbrushes ASP so check back often.
