Especially the chains. Is the clear coat guy a pro? Kinda wierd to not have a dedicated Clear Coat gun. The stuff is nasty, I had the same thing happen to me when I had used the same gun for primer and clear coat. The clear cleaned out every little bit of crap in the gun and splattered it all over the surface. After that I bought a gun just for the clear.
I touched up a 2006 R6 Yamaha a couple of weeks ago and all I had to do was scuff up the clear coat. I was just laying down a matching basecoat to cover some scratches, not airbrushing. The only prob that I think you could run into is once you wet sand the clear coat, it becomes hazy (at least the clear coat I use) so detail work may be a pain in the booty.
