Default Another Newbie with alot of questions

Hello id like to introduce myself i am Randy and i jumped into airbrushing about a year ago but im afraid my "self taught" method has fallen way short of my goals. Very quickly, i accuried a antique fishing lure company about a year ago and decided to bring them back to a very limited market place. I would like to give you a quick list of my equiptment and a few preliminary questions to the obviously talented board members. I have a 4' passche spray booth a airbrush depot TC-169 compressor with a regulator an Iwata HP-BC dual action bottom feed airbrush. i am painting on a scotch brighted powder coat surface with 1 shot enamel then clear coating with DELCLEAR DAU75 Urethane. My first question is this: is 1 shot a good airbrush paint and can i get it to stop spattering? i am using the one shot 6000 reducer and im mixing about 40ML of paint to 7-9 tablespoons of reducer and i keep getting what seems to be a build up and splattering. i am getting the patterns down pretty well for the objects im painting but im afraid the established venders selling similar items are much cleaner painters. and advice mixing instructions or suggestions will be gladly recieved as i already seem to have learned one thing on here already which is keeping the air on even when not applying paint and i am going to practice that tomorrow.
