when you are spraying base coats, they never look " right" until you hit them with clear. i have found the HOK to build stronger color faster than any water borne i have used, simply because it dries so fast. shoot some of your base coat as practice, on a practice piece, then shoot some sg100 intercoat clear over that and see if it is closer to the color you are looking for. also, are you reducing the base coat? maybe you are just not getting enough paint flow, and that is why you are having to go over so many times. What types of HOK are you using. LJ
