Re: practice on metal surface (devil skull)
Auto paints are nice because of the Ruducers you can use with them. I use HOK and Sherwin Williams auto paints. The speed of the reducers makes it nice for painting graphics on metals because if you use a fast reducer you can rub it after about 20 seconds (depending on how heavy you spray it) and it doesn't streak or leave a print. I would suggest you goto your local auto store and get some auto paint.
If you get your HOK, and are doing graphics that requires many layers get the fast or medium reducer. Also you might want to get some SG-100 intercoat clear. Then you can do an intercoat clear on certain layers to protect aginst any marks if you have to tape out a section. Ther reduction on most of the HOK stuff is 2 parts paint one part reducer (for your reference). You will need to use some respiratory protection though. Get a mask that has a cartridge that filters out Isocyianates (two part clear coats) and Organic Vapors (most paint fumes). I use one made by Aearo Co. you can google that name and get some idea of what you need. Just by all means DON'T think you can paint with HOK and not use a respirator. You WILL get sick.
BTW you are awesome at doing skulls. I been practicing my technique but I'm having difficulty. Got any tips for me?
