Hey Neill don't knock yourself down it looks good i think the only thing it needs is a little bit of a shadow where the material folds.

not bad for a first attempt - a little shadow in the folds and make the stripes curve with the curves of the flag and you will have it.

thanks for the tips, didnt think about making the pattern move the same as the flag ,might be a bit tricky ,i'll have to try that next time because otherwise the flag looks a bit stiff

I would add just a bit of shading on the wall and on the flag. As well as some highlights on the flag. Looks pretty good thoug. Brad.

I have to agree with Artworld,... a little shading,... and highlights, not only on the wall, but on the flag itself, will add another demension to it. By adding shadows under your folds,... and highlights over them, it will give the effect of the flag waving more. For the shadows, don't just use balck,... but take either the red or blue, and add a little black to it and over reduce to make it transparant, then mist it on free hand abit at a time until you get the effect that you want.
Looks good so far,... but i think you can tweek it a bit.

Don't forget to highlight the folds as well. Shadow the under side and then highlight the overside.
Looks good so far. Keep going.

Yup,... a few minutes in Photoshop and it can give a much better idea of which way to go, and how it will look when you are done.
