Default OT Sean Connery Charcoal Drawing Done

I started this back on Christmas week, but got the flu before Newyears.. finaly felt well enough to finish this Sunday. Framed it last night and this will be it for the charcoal drawings for a while. Back to the Airbrush and trying out some DR Martians Inks and some new supports..

Size is 8.5" x 11.5".. could have just framed the reference photo

doug simply amazing... the lips and nose turned out great (as I knew it would) Ireally like the texture on the hair.

Thanks everyone! If you have never tired charcoal and you like doing black and white portraits with your airbrush using reductive technique (erasing) you should give charcoal a try (vine and willow). I hated using it like they tought in class.. lots of mess and no detail. Applied like paint, using stumps (paper pointy things to smear it around without getting to dark) it really can be portable, fun, and fast. Just have to be carefull not to touch it till you spray it lightly with fixative when complete. Other bad thing is it has to be behind glass if you want it to last

I wanted to comment on this earlier but I only had a few minutes and your portrait left me speechless. I still don't have an adjetive for describing how nice it looks.

Thanks everyone! It really isn't as hard as you would think.. unlike paint from an airbrush you can apply it slowy and it will come right off with the kneeded eraser if you mess up.. there are progress photos on my website if anyone is interested

Simply incredible, the detail is unreal or should I say real, becuase it looks real. you should be proud of that, but then again all of your work is outstanding. you are a true artist with versatility. Thanks for sharing.
