Default Vinyl cutter-WICKED!

I wanted to do some beveled tribal for a design. Found out today that my cousin owns a sign company, yes with 2 cutters! So off I go with my Corel design, he cuts it in 2 minutes! So I did this tonight in like 1 hour! Followed recent how-to's by BigD and Lee. Worked like a charm! (sorry about the flash guys).

Luc, that looks fantastic mate, only thing I would like to add is just be careful of your light source when painting tribal type stuff, makes a huge impact as to how well the dimensional aspect of the edges look.

Off to a brilliant start brother.

Way cool Luc! Just like Rowie says, just pay attention to your light sources. Way killer job though!
Them cutters come in handy!

Yeah I hear you guys. Cutter is coll, just a bit of a puzzle to reposition the inside mask. I think I have to get more transparent transfer tape. These pictures are not the best cause i think the flash is intensifying the white. The other thing is that my light source is coming from a weird angle because I'm trying to match it with the hignlights that are already on the illustration. We'll see how it turns out.

wow ..nice work....lucky you to have access to a cutter....I have it next on my list for major shop needs...sadly I have outgrown my present banjo, and the new banjo I am getting is 2 times the cost of a good plotter...the demand for my pickin is greater than the demand for the plotter/cutter right now...I only take shop money to pay for shop things , and mad money for my other toys so the cutter is down the road......

looks good lsa, gotta love those plotters.

tis funny yard i work the same way, i have different monies too i invest art money back into art supplies and equipment ....

signmax.com cheap plotters with everything included, software isnt too good but thier plotters work with other software. they have a few ebay stores in the US and Canada... i got a complete " 48" pro package" deal with lots of extra's for about $800 including shipping. came with a stand, pouncing tool, engraver, plotting tool, 2 different cutting heads and spare baldes , 4 24" rolls of practice vinyl, even came with a few handy instructional videos on how to use everything, bunch of other stuff too.

it's no roland but it works pretty good once you get the hang of things. damn thing is too big to take a pic of in my tiny office.

Hairbag this is good to know! I was looking at the 24" model and thinking about going to their Montreal store. That one is about $600 with the package that you're describing. Cool!

i got mine from the montreal store myself... wasnt impressed with the packaging but they seem to be willing to help out if you have any problems. i had a broken pincher roller when mine arrived and they sent me a box of 4 to replace it.

look and see if they have any make offer deal's. mine was 850 plus shipping and i offered them 700 plus shipping. they accepted within minutes so i'd imagine you could get an even better deal.

this is a cheap but functional plotter, good entry level one so far.
