Badger 155 Problems

Hello all, new to airbrushing and the forum. I'm having a problem with my Badger 155. First let me explain a few details. I'm using Auto Air reduced just a bit, and just under 40 PSI. The tip and needle have both been replaced. The brush is not performing well at all. Paint will not flow when the trigger slightly pulled (no fine lines). If I pull back a little further the paint comes out rapidly. The brush ran fine a few days ago, now all the sudden it's giving me fits. I have cleaned it many times and it still won't operate.

Any ideas??

I'm not to familiar with badger airbrushes,but i have used auto air when i first started airbrushing.sounds to me like the paint is to thick try thinning the paint more and see if that helps.

How much have you reduced the paint?
What are you using for reducer?
What are you painting on?

I just started ABing a couple of days ago with a badger 155 as well, and had the exact problem you are talking about. Try reducing (thinning) the paint. You want it to flow like milk. Sounds really thin but works. I use around 30psi and am using my tube acrylics (liquitex) with some airbrush medium to thin them down. It does look a little grainy but I think that might be because I didn't strain the paint first, or tube paint pigments aren't ground as finely as AB "ready to use" paint (createx, golden).

I do not use the badger with auto air, same problem you had. The 155 works great for a lot of other projects and paints. Just a geuss that it would work fine for details if thinned down and low pressure(about 35psi).

I reduce as much as 1:1 and keep my presure between 12 and 16 pounds(psi)
