Default your opinion needed

hi,gonna paint some tins to a harley sporster
the client is getting a new tank so he gave me the old one to show him if i'm up to yhe task,,he want blue true flames,,,
did some test on the old tank but not sur if i like it,,,maybe do little bolder flames,,and more flow,,,these look little to narrow/small,,what do you think,,
btw it's not cleared so it looks little dull and flat,,well,,what do i know about that,,i'm no expert in true flames
let me have it,,

Kimmo,
I am really no expert, but I like the way it looks. When you look at evil skulls,
this looks like the background. Myself I think the design you did looks killer.
I hope the customer will dig it. You could paint that on my bike anytime. Its class looking.

UP TO THE TASK!!!! You have got to be kidding me!! He doesn't know you to well I take it!
They look great Kimmo. The only thing I would probably do is maybe brighten it up a bit from the front but other than that I think the flow and the color of the flame looks right on!
Keep us posted on the progress.

Looks pretty good to me kimmo. Foe was wondering about blue fire colors to use. Check out his recent guitar post...

That looks awesome kimmo, great flames. If your customer is not happy with that quality of work, he doesn’t deserve to have your art work on his bike…. Just tell him blue flames attract only sensuous beautiful sexy women of a very rare genetic sought after type. He’ll pay you double! JK. Best of luck!

Kimmo, I agree totally with Lee brother!

Lighten it up abit in the front will work a treat, another thing I like is to use some white pearl on the hilites and some dark blue pearls in the shadows.

When the clear hits the pearls really POP and add to the dimensionality of the artwork.

Brilliant work brother, I would never have doubted that you could do the job!

Well, I guess I got go against everyone so far If the goal is to look like real fire, then I don't think you are there yet. I cann't do the fire either..
But these look a little to attached and stenciled to me. Are you using reference picture of real flames? You are good at painting what you see, if you are not using reference maybe give it a try. These are not the best but the only ones I have..

My guess is the customer would love what you have done, but you asked...
Hey you said it wasn't raining.. go burn something and take picutres!

Thanks Doug for the pics,,i didn't find my ref pics so i did the pattern without
reference,,
i'm with you also it looks little to stenciled got to try to make it little wilder

Rowie,,hmm,,the base color on the tins are state blue pearl,,i got purple pearl and blue pearl, white pearl,,i was wondering if i could use any of them
but i'm not sure how it would look when it's cleared,,,
maybe a layer of blue pearl is a idea to spray over to make the fire
blend in with the base color,,but in otherhand i don't wanna experiment to much,,
/kimmo
BTW,,,this is one of manny great things about this forum you can ask for opinions and about other issues and get honest answers,,i realy appriciate that
Thanks friends,

Jim, I'm not sure what paints our brother Kimmo is using there but there is no reason at all that the same or similar results could not be achieved with AA.

Using AA's range of Candies or Trans paints you can create an amazing array of fire effects and colors. Their pearl's really make the fire work POP too.

Big D has some fine examples of AA fire.

Just dive right in Jim, the water's fine!

I think you have more colors to use with AA than i have.
i'm using my ICI autocolors(waterbased)
i have Blue,reduced blue;bluegreen,and reduced white.
the bluegreen is kind of transparent,,,that's what i work with,,
no candys,,,
